Understanding Socialization
Social class socialization is the most critical part of life in New York City, especially for the great law firms of New York. It is important to underscore the impact of law graduates from prestigious universities like Harvard, Yale, and Columbia on the daily operations of the great firms in New York. However, while their presence in New York is often a result of years of hard work, there is a given reality that some of these lawyers are talented individuals who blend their education with the intuitive knowledge to become great leaders in both legal and investment banking ventures. New York is a very difficult environment. Becoming very successful and accomplished in the work you do and gaining the respect of the social class you are part of is a daily struggle of life. Lawyers, Investment bankers, and many other private venture capitalists have to fight for the immense wealth the city holds. These fights are both private, and public and they include working through the social class and up the social ladder to become the best in the team. In order to understand why taking note of the social graces needed to carry conversations in any given social circumstance and gain the necessary qualifications to do so, SUITS tells of the story of two lawyers and one degree and how the degree is shaping the activities of the two lawyers and the firm they love working for. It is therefore essential to underscore that social class socialization especially in a City like New York is a fundamental process that either builds or destroys individuals, social lives, and relationships.
