One big factor in determining how one goes about solving or sorting out a problem depends on how their parents raised them. An example of this is if a child’s parents were very supporting and made a very positive environment around the child, then the child will likely attack the problem head on. Culture also plays a role in weather or not a person will grow up to attack their problems or just bottle them up and store them away. In the article “Emotion Socialization and Children’s Behavioral Problems in China and the United States” the author states,” As seen in Table 2, significant culture effects were found for parents’ supportive and controlling practices as well as children’s internalizing problems. U.S. parents were more supportive and less controlling than Chinese parents. Chinese children also had more internalizing problems than U.S. children.” (Tianyi, Volling, Weihua, 2015, p.9).
