General Purpose: To inform
Specific Purpose: At the end of the speech the audience should have a better understanding that sexism doesn’t just occur in women, they can also occur in men.
Central Idea: Understanding that men go through sexism just as much as women do.
Introduction: For those of you do not know I am in the process of getting my license. So I have been reading my little driver’s manual to know what limits I have since I am still a minor. So I have been doing some reading and I found something that really stood out to me. While I was reading this I came to this section that says that all male drivers have to apply for a military draft form. Now I understand that America hasn’t had a draft since Vietnam but it still irks me that a lot of people in our society view men as the masculine figures.
Sexism is something that a lot of people have been talking about. However. when most people think of sexism they tend to think of things like feminism and women’s rights. Now I am not saying that was a bad thing but I do wonder where are all the males in this? So I did a lot of research and I came to a conclusion that men have rough just as women do. Yes women do suffer a lot of sexism, but it is important to keep in mind that men suffer as well. What can be done in order to help solve this issue is by making sure the word is spread. It is also important to promote gender equality. There shouldn’t really be a competition between men and women either. We cannot point the finger and blame each other why there is so much gender inequality in our world. This should all just be about trying to create a better society so that both men and women can enjoy living in a world free of gender
