The two commonly used language techniques that were used progressively were; descriptive language and personal pronouns. Descriptive language was thoroughly used throughout the article to help enhance the location of Santorini. By utlising personal pronouns such as “by surrounding yourself” or “you will find yourself in …” it gives readers a taste of what they will expect on their experience. Magazines are a publishing platform that includes stories and articles along with lots of visuals such as images. Using these words also helped to engage readers on a personal level, making readers to feel as if the article is directly talking to them. Information from other online blogs were used as a guide as to what to include in the article as well as personal desires of what I would want to do in Santorini.
Creating the feature article “Splendour of Santorini” allowed me to evoke ideas of what to do in Santorini. This was the most effective way to communicate the purpose as it allowed the information to be directly aimed towards young female travelers. By strongly using language techniques and stylistic features, the purpose of the article was conveyed successfully.
In comparison to other travel inspired blogs/articles, the layout/format is quite similar. Most travel written articles have several smaller paragraphs spread across columns instead of having one large paragraph that contains the context of the article.
