This however is an issue in the society because when someone treats us in an evil way we want to get revenge on them so we end up fighting evil with evil. However if one person fights evil with good then the other would pay it forward so more people can overcome evil with good. This is shown in the scene of Les Misérables where a man named Jean Valjean, who was imprisoned for 19 years because he stole a loaf of bread. Once he was released He cannot find anywhere to work or stay however he was warmly invited to stay at a bishops place, but instead he repays the man’s kindness by stealing his silverware and slipping away in the night. When the police find him and bring him back to the bishop the bishop tells the guards that the silverware was a gift and demands that they release him. The stunning display of mercy by the bishop challenged Valjean to become an honest man which powerfully transforms Valjean life forever. Catholics today should be influenced by people like the bishop and always fight evil with good to inspire others to do the
