My nursing plan is to obtain my ASN degree and continue to work at Billings Clinic but transfer into PACU as an RN. I would like to work in PACU because it will give me the critical care nursing skills I desire to achieve, as well as a good place to begin my nursing career for experience. I like the idea of taking care of patients who are coming out of surgery and require extra care before they can go home or to a hospital room for overnight stay. As a nurse with an ASN degree my roll would be the same as most of the nurses on a hospital floor; although, in addition to the ASN I would need to obtain my critical care certificate to work in PACU. As a registered nurse with an ASN my roles in this healthcare setting would be to provide and manage quality care for patients, promote healthcare advancements of patient daily living and to ensure proper safety and infection control practices and techniques.…

It is my goal to pursue a career as a nurse. When I was little I loved to pretend I was Dr. Vicki, and I would "fix" the broken bones and bandage the injuries of my family members and stuffed animals all the time. As I grew older becoming a nurse became less of a dress up game and more of career goal. My interest in the health field was heightened by having an uncle who works as an EMT. My uncle Charlie always had stories to tell, and they were some of the most interesting and bizarre tales I'd ever heard.…
