Joining the Cub Scouts program in first grade put me on track to join the Boy Scouts of America, which at age eleven, I transitioned into, thus beginning my journey towards achieving the coveted pinnacle of the scouting program: Eagle Scout. Obtaining the Eagle rank is a long and difficult process, building within the scout strong traits of leadership, teamwork, and individual growth mindset, because progression is up to the scout. If it’s something they really want, then they will go after it and do what needs to be done. which are all essential elements in life. As progression through scouting occurs, individuals accumulate valuable experience working as a team given that the structure of the troop derives from small groups of six to eight…

National Honor Society Application Essay For any human to exhibit qualities throughout their lifestyle, one must transcend in certain aspects of their nature. Everyone is born with a different character or personality and not everyone exceeds in all of the same categories, however; I would place myself among the four characteristics of scholarship, leadership, service, and outstanding character as some of the qualities where I excel. I have always been a very studious person, and I take pride in my achievements in the classroom. I was also raised to believe that my best is an A, so when I got my first B it was not something taken lightly. I try to remember that if you put your mind to something, then you can accomplish it, which reminds me of the quote by Mike Farrell, “If you try to do your best there is no failure.”…

I want to be a member of the National Honor Society because it is an excellent program with no “bad side”. NHS is a great way to give back to the community, it looks good on college applications and scholarships, it allows me to be a leader, and it is just what the name implies- an honor. Along with all the good it does, it is not too much of a commitment. I am a teenager in high school and have a busy life- adding another extracurricular activity to my plate can become overwhelming. However, NHS would allow me to help my community and future without forcing me to give up the life I have- I can get service hours doing what I enjoy and learn more about myself by trying new things.…

When sitting down to decide what my Eagle Scout Project would encompass I never thought that the choice would result in such an impact into the future. My project benefitted the Guide Dogs of Texas Organization, and through teamwork and dedication produced several light and portable PVC puppy agility training equipment (i.e, weave poles, agility ladder, and teeter-totter) and wood cabinet laundry/bedding storage. As minor as theses items may seem, these objects will continue to work to improve the lives of those who aren’t able to fully experience life; That, in essence, my Eagle Project will bring light into the worlds of those kept in the dark; To me that truly is a rewarding experience.
