Using PEDs takes many aspects away from the athlete and creates an unfair competition between someone who acquires those characteristics and does it all through hard work. Winning should be an authentic victory, meaning that the athlete should combine extraordinary natural talent with exemplary effort, training, and technique (Murray). With the use of steroids athletes aren’t using their natural talent much less any of the other factors. It is unfair that many athletes train hard to be the best they can be and aren’t successful 100% of the time while others use steroids and don’t work nearly as hard and are still as successful or even more successful.
