Strategic Learning Plan Essay

After I took the strength quest assessment, it showed me that I have five strengths, Empathy, Developer, Context, Learner, and Discipline. I am a little disappointed that one of my strengths is not significance. Significance means that I would be independent and want to be recognized. It also means that I am very important in the eyes of others. I feel that I need to have significance if I want to become a professional journalist in the future. If I want to be a respected, well-known journalist, I need to improve on my significance. I could practice becoming a professional journalist by interviewing people. I could also practice reporting on news for my blog. When someone is becoming a journalist, they have to start at the bottom

I will work my way up to the top and have significance by doing well in college, taking many writing courses, applying for internships, getting experience in the journalism field, graduate college, and then put my name out there even more when I look for a professional journalism job. One thing I need to improve on is having strengths in the Woo category. Woo means that I would love the challenge of meeting new people and winning them over. I will admit, I am a shy person and I don’t talk very much in large groups. I want to take a speech class in college so I can improve on not being shy. A speech class would help me improve on speaking verbally and help me become a professional journalist. Questions 3: Choosing to engage in strategic planning Various internal or external influences may influence an executive director at a drug addiction treatment center to engage in strategic planning. I have always been a quiet person and I was never a fan of the spotlight. I would do almost anything to escape talking in public, but my teachers and advisers saw something in me that I would have never seen.…

It is a bit surreal to think that I will be a senior at Endicott College in the fall. It feels as if just yesterday that I was 17-years-old, applying to colleges and hoping that once I secured a face-to-face interview, that I would be able to explain why my grades suffered my freshman year of high school. I was hoping that once in an interview that a reputable college would take a chance on me, to take into consideration the bullying I endured, for me to showcase my academic abilities. Endicott was that school. In 2013, I graduated Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School and never looked back.…

I think that I will be able to achieve this goal but finding a decent internship and really just branching myself out there to show my true talents to all the wonder news stations and paper companies. Tying into the job category, I really would like to find a job either working for The New York Times writing articles or working for CNN as either a News Anchor or work on the articles that the anchors will be announcing. I hope to achieve this goal by making my SRU internship in the summertime either through a big name magazine in the New York City or even being able to work for CNN for the summer whether it be for money or experience. As a student I also hope to be able to work professionally with some of the big name stars, either interviewing them for paper or…

The “strengths” inventory also brought to my attention a detail about my personality that I was oblivious to. One of my top strengths is “significance”, meaning that I want to appear important in the eyes of others. Now that I am aware of it, I can definitely see how it can be true. I do not necessarily want to showcase my significance to the world, rather, I derive pleasure in knowing that people recognize my potential intellectual capacity. This is a good thing because it motivates me to always be the best presentable version of myself.…

My fingers shook like a leaf caught in the breath of winter, sweat stippled my body, the breakfast burrito in my stomach heaved, and with growing anticipation, I sat down in my seat and started my math quiz. All of my life, I had been quiet and reserved. As a baby, I rarely cried, and in elementary school, I was deemed, “the shy kid.” As I progressed through school, my reticence was easily overlooked, but at the end of seventh grade, my parents decided to move. I started eighth grade at a new school and my first day was a total shock.…
