After I took the strength quest assessment, it showed me that I have five strengths, Empathy, Developer, Context, Learner, and Discipline. I am a little disappointed that one of my strengths is not significance. Significance means that I would be independent and want to be recognized. It also means that I am very important in the eyes of others. I feel that I need to have significance if I want to become a professional journalist in the future. If I want to be a respected, well-known journalist, I need to improve on my significance. I could practice becoming a professional journalist by interviewing people. I will work my way up to the top and have significance by doing well in college, taking many writing courses, applying for internships, getting experience in the journalism field, graduate college, and then put my name out there even more when I look for a professional journalism job. One thing I need to improve on is having strengths in the Woo category. Woo means that I would love the challenge of meeting new people and winning them over. I will admit, I am a shy person and I don’t talk very much in large groups. I want to take a speech class in college so I can improve on not being shy. A speech class would help me improve on speaking verbally and help me become a professional journalist. In the future I could also look into internships that would help me meet new people, and feel better about being around large groups of people.
