San Francisco, California, is a beautiful city and is home to many landmarks and rich history; however, it also contains the world’s leading suicide location, the Golden Gate Bridge. It is a magnificent structure that is used for the wrong purpose far too often. According to the World Health Organization, close to 800,000 people commit suicide each year and is the second leading cause of death between the ages of 15 and 29-year olds. Many more attempt suicide, but it goes unreported.
Whether it was a family member or close friend, it impacts many people. Suicide is morally wrong to most people because they do not agree that under any circumstances suicide should be an option. Everyone is given the gift of life and even though they can choose what they want to do with it, one should not feel the need to take their own life, which some see as the easy way out of a tough situation. Everyone was born with a purpose and a reason. The ones that are attempting to commit suicide do not intend to hurt other people because they feel as though no one cares about them anyway so why not do it. Even though people may not know or see that people care about them, there are always people that will not want you to harm yourself and there are always more options than suicide. When people commit suicide, it makes their loved ones feel as though they could have done something to prevent it, or think that maybe they could have just called them, and it would have saved their life.
