Cognitive dissonance can be described as “inconsistent cognitions arouses psychological tension that people become motivated to reduce” (Kassin et. Al 239). In other words, it is when your mind has two opposing thoughts. Once this happens we automatically want to reduce the dissonance by changing one’s actions, thoughts or attitude. Fogell is considered to be a nerd he usually does not do rebellious things like this. One part of his mind is telling to him to do it and the other part is telling him not to do it. Seth and Evan have a big role in reducing his dissonance and he finally gives in and does it
