In Joe Wenderoth’s “My Life” the speaker describes a man who finds an animal - his life. Wenderoth writes how he took care of his animal named “My Life.” A third of the way down he realizes that “My Life’ could and would kill him so he stops taking care of it. As he does this he realizes that it never needed him to survive. Wenderoth uses symbolism in his poem, “My Life.” Wenderoth states that “it got into his room”(1).
