Takata has only two product lines, airbag systems and seat belts and in 2000 they began using ammonium nitrate propellant to propel the airbag systems deployment. They also had meeting with many of their auto manufacturers to determine the products affected and “In 2012 they had a meeting with U.S. auto-safety regulators [and they declared that] Takata "failed to clarify inaccurate information" on the air bags, according to a consent decree the company later signed” (USA), this appeared to be the last nail in the coffin for the company. The reasons for this are as follows, they lied about their products safety and how dangerous it was, they were slow to realize the issue and confess their mistake, they failed to reveal the magnitude of the issue with the number of vehicles affected and due to their arrogance and oversight lives were lost and hundreds were injured. The people and families affected with never be the same after being hurt by the products that were supposed to protect them.
