Tanzania is located in the southwestern region of Africa. It was once a hub for slavery with its coastline on the Indian Ocean. Though a very rural country, there is the ability for the country to grow and expand immensely. The countries imports and exports are from around the globe. With a growing population of almost fifty million, the country is making its way into becoming a less impoverished country. Tanzania imports and exports a few materials. The majority of the countries exports are gold, raw tobacco, precious metal ore, oily seeds, and copper ore. The country imports refined petroleum, palm oil, packaged medicaments (medications), cars and wheat. Many of the imports are found in the cities and urban areas but when you get into the rural areas, they become scare and less available. India is the number one trade partner with Tanzania. Seventeen percent of the exports and nineteen percent of the imports are from India. Tanzania also imports from China, United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, and Kenya. Tanzania exports items to South Africa, China, and Japan. Kenya shares a boarder with Tanzania, which results in lots of trade between the two countries. …show more content…
The country is also a very young country. About forty-four percent of the population is under the age of fifteen. This presents many challenges. Those countries that are looking into investing in the country, really need to focus on that younger generation. With almost half of the population being this young, they are the future of the country. Those individuals are the ones that are going to make a difference in the country and will soon be the population. I believe that taking the time to invest in these young people, could result in some major changes and possibilities for the
