It is constantly changing the way you do your everyday job. It allows humans to do more in smaller amounts of time. At the age of 17, I alone have witnessed a flip phone that could barely call anyone evolve into a thin, touch screen device that can answer almost every question you have with the click of a button. That face can then be sent through a scanner that could possibly tell you where a person is right that second through a GPS. In addition, there are apps that you can download on your phone that are made for law enforcement purposes. Some apps are made to help police officers. One app is called Police Spanish Guide. It is free and can be downloaded onto your Iphone or Android. The app translates to the suspect everything from a basic traffic stop to domestic violence situations (Roberts). There are also apps that help people when they are in danger. An app called SafeTrek is an app made to help you feel safe while walking somewhere that makes you uncomfortable. The user holds down a button on the screen of their smart phone. If they let go of the button, your phone asks for a four digit passcode that was previously set up. If you type in that code, the app knows that you have made it home safe and sound. If the four digit code is not typed in, the police are contacted by SafeTrek and sent to where you are.
