Summary: Ten Steps To Strategic Plan

There are ten steps to strategic plan process which public managers create a five-year or longer plan, along with budgets and reporting of their operations to emphasize the longevity of its organizations. This is a way of providing accountable measurements, performances reviews, and efficiency, effectiveness towards the overall health of an organization. These measurements are used to adjust the organization accordingly if the program or services are not being effective or being underutilized by the public. These strategic plans are great instrumental tools for reporting to constituents, donors, sponsors and governmental officials on program and services effectiveness provided to and for the community (Bryson, 2014).

After the strategic plan has been implanted a vision of success is in from of the public manager to disseminate to its employee, collaborators, sponsors, donors and the public. It is in response to the core mission values, and philosophy of the organizations to be successful and purpose driven with implementing important rules and ethical standards to all (Bryson, 2014).
The ninth step is developing an effective implementation process it is important to developing a step by step implementation plan so that all participants understand their roles. There are lines of delegations, collaboration, scheduling, monitoring, review, and accountability to be done. This ensures the successful action plan to any organization at any level (Bryson, 2014).
The last step is reassessing the strategic plan to help with finding the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. It also is important to get feedback and it continues to keep an open dialogue with all necessary parties to the success of an organizations and its public manager (Bryson,
