The selection process of the CIT program is very important to have, it determines who is suitable to handle the variety of situations that may occur when dealing with a person of mental illness, which brought the achievement in the CIT program. The program looks for officers who demonstrate enthusiasm and excitement for the work and they select officers who demonstrate flexibility, empathy, calmness, creativity, intuitiveness, and willingness to try new techniques (Adelman, 2003).
