When I think of writing time, I think of a nice, calm classroom where everyone is solely focused on their work, getting it done, which is exactly what Thacker’s classroom sounds like. Growing up and in classrooms I have seen, some teachers set up a calming environment to help the students focus in on their work by playing soft music and setting up areas where students can go alone and work. In previous field experience in talking with the teacher, they say that keeping a routine is very important so the students know what to expect because if you change the schedule up, behavior may change and the students could be confused. Thacker has many strong points in her article with being open and honest about what she does and how students react to the way she runs her classroom, more specifically during writing. I did not notice any weak points. I am able to say she had many strong points because I feel that this can be helpful for me and my future classroom, as in giving me ideas for what I can do. There was not anything I saw where I thought in my head that it would not work or maybe she should not be doing
