In 1187, Saladin the Great who was the general of Tikrit led the Muslim’s army and reconquered Jerusalem from the Crusade. Crusade was not simply religious journey of the Christian to Jerusalem. The event created a hostile relationship between the Muslim and the Christian lasting to this day. After the Crusade occurred, the Christian pilgrims needed to be protected and it led to the founding of the Knights Templar. It was also the futile war because thousands of people died due to their religious belief. Innocent men, women, even children were slaughtered by the crusaders. Furthermore, in the next Crusades, not only citizen in city but also soldiers were fallen down, causing blood running like a river. Crusaders also destroy homes, properties and temples on their way to Jerusalem. However, it would be a mistake if I do not mention the positive impacts of the Crusades. In addition, this article was also described how brutal the Crusade was: “Arrows fell like raindrops, so that one could not show a finger above the ramparts without being hit. Everybody, either hundreds years ago or in modern time, has freedom of religious and it is not anyone’s fault for worshiping the god or the goddess they believe. In the Crusades, I think the Jews were the most innocent group because the initial purpose of the Crusades was to take control of Holy Land from the Turks - the Muslim. However, since the People 's Crusades changed the route, the Jews accidentally involved in the religious war and were cruelly destroyed. Overall, I think it was all about the ambition and power. Because of ambition to increase the control in Asia Minor, the Turks started a war with Byzantine which cause the latter Byzantine emperor asked Pope Urban II for help to offense. Pope Urban was afraid that the influence of the Muslims on Holy Land would decrease his power so he started the Crusade and caused the pointless war lasting for hundred years and thousands of deaths of innocent
