Anxiety is one of the most common disorders in America and has an average age-onset of 11 years old (NIMH, n.d.). After repeatedly taking body altering substances, you could easily set off your brains ability to decipher your normal comfort zone and develop panic in public settings. When coping with a stressful situation that can make you anxious, it’s important to remember to take time out of your day to focus on yourself, whether it’s listening to music, practicing yoga, going for a massage or even to learn different relaxation techniques. It’s also vital to remember that a well-balanced diet and getting enough rest at night can play a factor in the daily stressors of life. Skipping meals can often make you tired, and the two go hand in hand when it comes to getting enough rest and not getting enough to eat. When we’re stressed, we tend to stay awake all hours of the night thinking about all the things that have put us in certain situations, and after some time, that takes toll on not only our mental health, but also on our physical being. On the flip side of missing meals, we sometimes over-indulge in meals or “comfort foods” that we believe will make us happy, but constantly relying on chicken nuggets, chips, ice cream and fries can lead to us deeper into an abyss that can transition from anxiety issues to major depression, because eating junk can cause weight gain and us becoming dissatisfied with our own bodies and suddenly become body
