Overcrowding in prisons is a big problem that the United States is facing. Overcrowding is at an all-time high and it is happening nationwide. According to Time Magazine, “Crowded prisons are more likely to have riots and inmate-on-inmate violence, including sexual assaults”. With overcrowding being a problem we should use the death penalty as a main solution for criminals who murder other people. The death penalty also solves the problem with parole and criminals who escape. When a criminal kills and is found guilty the death sentence should be given to them. When they are given the death penalty they will not have the chance for parole. These murderers will also be under maximum surveillance before their death and therefore they will not be able to escape. If we let murderers escape or get out of prison we give them the change to kill again. I am okay with having a murder on death row, but I am not okay with having a murderer walking. When it comes down to it the death penalty should be used more often to get justice for these victims and their families. Many people argue today that the death penalty has killed innocent people. That being true that will not happen today. With science being as advance as it is today innocent men and women will no longer be sent to death for a crime they did not commit. With that being said the real criminal can be brought to justice so the victim and the victim’s family can have it too. Many families of the victim argue against the death penalty because they do not agree with it. I believe however that they should face the death penalty, but that is not how things should work out. Just because one person wants it does not mean that it should happen. If the judge gives the criminal the death sentence the family of the victim should be able to decide whether they would like that or life imprisonment. The family and the victim deserves justice and it should he whatever can help these families to begin to
