People build memorials for many different reasons. A lot of times they are built to remind people of who they once knew. If it was a place then it shows them something they once knew. They are very important to have and hold because it can really keep your mind fresh of the person or event. They really show how people once really cared of this person or event. I once went to see Annie Oakely’s memorial down south in Greenville. It honestly was so amazing seeing it and actually remembering stories that i have once heard of her in my younger years. Memorials are usually a statue or a symbol, if you will, to show the person who passed or the event, that they were loved and cared about and that they meant a lot to them. This is why people go and visit cemetarys to see grave stones. They love and cared about them so they visit them and usually bring things they liked.
