A modern baptism takes place inside a church in which a priest would pour water onto an infants’ head. This differs greatly from the origins of ritual. A baptism is a very symbolic ceremony in its practice. From the incipient to the final allowance into the church, every aspect has its purpose. Water and fire are large proponents in signifying the rebirth that someone goes through after a baptism. Fire is the light that leads the believers through life, sinless.
