The method of fieldwork analyzes people in an area to find cultural patterns and
understand their way of life. Fieldwork will help get a better understanding of the topic of
sex on TV and its relation to children by studying the reaction of children to the
commercials and sex scenes and see if it influences them in the outside world. It is very
important to get all the information needed to conduct sociological research and get
realistic findings. Fieldwork is a valuable method and will assist in collecting the most
reasonable information re-guarding the way sexual televising shapes the youth with
permission of the parents. The conflict theory and symbolic perspective will be used to
understand the situation and apply this research method

The main benefit to fieldwork is the ability to notice common patterns and
maximize understanding of what is going on around the specified experiment area. The
researcher gets to study human behavior that contributes to cultural and social context
that connects to the topic being studied (Boundless, 2012).
Despite all the pros, fieldwork research does have some cons to using it as a
method. Researchers practicing fieldwork do not get the chance to evaluate a lot of
people because it is mostly focused one specific group. The research might be accurate in
this group of people but may be different for others and so their research is based off of
selective people that may have different experiences and ways of living than other people
do. The research in fieldwork is very narrow due to the lack of participants; it doesn’t
observe a bunch of people as a whole like surveys would. This method is very time
consuming; the researcher must dedicate a majority of their time in order to get the right
amount of information and be sure not to miss anything that would be beneficial to their
data. During the time researching, it is important to build a relationship with the
