How has the microscope helped our understanding of science and changed the world?
The microscope has developed a huge understanding of science and really changed the world. Microscopes magnify tiny objects, which make them look a lot larger. Scientists use microscopes to see tiny objects that are too small to see with our eyes. These include cells, tiny living things, and grains of sand. A compound light microscope can give a magnification up to 1,000x. This makes it possible to see tiny living things such as bacteria, algae, protozoans, and many types of cells. It is important when it comes to solving crimes. Forensic epidemiologists may be assigned to find dangerous bacteria like salmonella or e.coli. They will look for bacteria in food under a microscope. The bacteria may point to a source of food contamination which can stop more people from getting infected. Forensic Anthropologists use microscopes to study tissue, bone, or other remains to determine factors of death. Electron microscopes are used to find a manner of a person that has left a deposit in the soil. Forensic pathologists determine the the manner in which a person has died. Traces left behind at crime scenes can be studied in detail under the microscope. These include: Fingerprints, hair, blood, small fibers of clothing or carpets, and bullets. Fingerprints and hair structure are unique and will lead you to a person involved in a crime. Even small particles of sand tell you under the microscope where a suspect person has been. When a bullet is fired from a weapon it will get very tiny scratches. Comparing these scratches with those of a bullet fired from a suspect weapon will give proof if this weapon was used in the
