The most important thing that I learned from my UNI class is that I do not have it all figured out. Most people, including myself, believe they have everything figured out in the world. However, that normally ends up in a terrible wakeup call when I think I know something but in reality I don’t. I was that freshmen that thought he knew it all and had it all figured out before he came. I was rudely awakened when I first got here though. To help people not be like me my group and I made a presentation on tips for college freshmen. This presentation included talking about money management, getting involved, taking care of yourself, study habits, and getting to know your campus. When my group members and I met we focused on the first chapter of the UNI textbook. We talked and agreed upon the most important things that every college freshman should know. We came up with those six talking points and we each presented one to the class. The most important tip that we researched was money management. It is super important to get to know the campus that you are attending. There are so many things that I didn’t know about UNCW until I actually took the time to go visit everything. It is very helpful to get a campus map, take a tour, or ask an employee or experienced student to show you around campus. You do not want to be that freshmen on the first day of class that has no clue where he is or where he is going. Along with knowing your campus it’s also important to know your professors. Each professor is unique and it’s important to learn their office hours and location. Developing a good relationship with your professors can be very beneficial in the end.     Avoiding the 5 minute rule in the morning also really helped me stop missing class or being really late.
