In my opinion, race still matters in the United States. In the environment of crime and criminal justice it matters even more For example, in North Charleston, South Carolina the death of Walter Scott shot in the back while unarmed. After watching small video clips last week in class I was very impressed with the programs, housing first and the lead work. I believe that if we had more programs for people that come out of jail to reestablish their life it will benefit society. A lot of these individuals serve time in jail over nonsense and are labeled for the rest of their lives. Unfortunately the rich just want to get richer and that’s why many states don’t have these types of benefits for people. Many of companies make tons of revenue of people going to jail, it will be to their disadvantage if we place more programs to like lead work and housing first. A lot of these folks just need someone to guide them and be with them at all times. I as an American will love to see these programs incorporate in each state. This will create more professional jobs, such as, social workers, case managers, physiologist, etc. If we have more opportunity like this I believe that our crime, homeless, racism rate will drop
