This project has helped me conquer one of my main goals in life. I now drink nine glasses of water a day because of my determination and my motivational partners. Although there have been many obstacles I managed to be successful in my goal. I did this by setting myself short term goals to accomplish first. My first short term goal was to drink six glasses of water every day. This short term was the most difficult one to complete because of the fact that I was just starting to hydrate properly. One of my main obstacles was forgetting to drink water while I was doing my homework. This was a big challenge for me because I get very focused on what I am doing and do not stop and drink water. To overcome this, I put post-it notes on my desk to remind me to go get a glass of water while doing homework. Putting the post-it notes on my desk made me realize that I needed to consume more water not only because I should but, because there are many beneficial outcomes of drinking enough water. I proposed myself to drink seven glasses of water a day. It was easier because of of my determination to reach my long term goal. I am a very driven person and I used this to my advantage while conquering my obstacles. The main obstacle I faced this time was forgetting to drink water while eating. This was a big issue to overcome because I never got a glass of water before I started eating, I would always get it after I ate. This was an issue because I got full with my food and had consumed no water. I defeated this by grabbing my water bottle before I sat down to eat and I drank water while I was eating, which made me full quicker and made me drink more water. This short term goal was completed easily because I had trained my body to crave more water than any other drink. I accomplished this goal before my target date and got to attend soccer practice as my
