Students Background: Oscar Eduardo Rivera Gonzales is twenty years old he was born in Guadalajara Jalisco but, he lives in downtown Tlaquepaque. He used to practice English by listening to music, watching movies and television series, playing video games etcetera. What Oscar wants is to continue practicing and develop his skills. He has a serious personality but sometimes if he feels comfortable he is sociable. He is good at reading and writing but, has a little difficult with listening. He can speak very well but he does not feel confident to have a long conversation. Because Oscar gets distracted easily it is necessary to use interesting topics to keep his attention.'
Learning Style: Oscar scored high in the interpersonal intelligence area of Gardeners, My True Intelligence questionnaire. This shows that he can work in groups, enjoys interactive activities, board games, and participates well in brainstorming sessions. Giving him additional writing activities or pages on line to practice at home will help him continue to learn after the class. Students` goals or priorities can change while studying a language because of time or money but there are many ways today to study languages. Thanks to advance technology students can study on line though whatever gadget they have. There are also many schools that give scholarships or courses for free. In the past this would have been difficult so now students have that facility to improve their knowledge. It is important that as a teacher we remain current and provide a setting that helps the student to use all possible avenues to learn. Oscar is very intelligent but very easily distracted, it is often necessary to ask him to put his cellphone away, even if he needs to research vocabulary it would be best to recommend a dictionary.
