This book examines the work of the Black Panther Party from an international view. Her first two parts contain information on the National History and general background. The next two sections contain information on the international history of the Black Panther Party and more specifically in Halifax and Nova Scotia. She believes that looking at an international view helps to eliminate biases, take a more complex look at the Party and, in general, view them through a different lens. This work I find very intriguing for my research because in looking at the legacy of the Black Panther Party this can provide a less talked about impact they had on the world, rather than just a national …show more content…
They are the “Participant-Observer Period”, the “Pearson Era” and the “Post-Empiricist Era”. Street examines important works of scholars, writers, party members and other people since the founding of the Black Panther Party and organizes them into his “three periods” in order for the reader to understand the Party and those in it, their actions and even some of the most important works. This work is important for my research because it provides works that I can look into for further research, but it also provides different history and details that some of the other articles and texts didn’t
