Looking in the mirror, Anele pulled her hair into a half bun and applied foundation to her pale complexion. Smearing lipstick across her almost blue lips, she hurries to the kitchen and checks the time. Anele grabbed her suitcase as she swung open her front door and dropped down onto the steps. What was she missing? Oh, keys! Her mind jumbled, she turns back around and reentered the house for the third time. She didn’t know where the time always went. It was one of those days she thought as she slid her key into the hole, locking the door behind her. 8:04, she was four minutes late for work. As she jumped up into her white ford, her phone flashed and then it buzzed at least seven times before she actually grabbed it to see what it was and read the email she’d received.
