With the possibilities, hydraulic fracking can create a new potential energy source for California and for the United States until we can find an alternative resource. As of now, if we were to replace coal power plants with natural gas plants, we could reduce greenhouse emissions by more than 50 percent. With that in mind, the natural gas would burn cleaner than other fossil fuels that we use. Of course, with an increase of production of hydraulic fracking in California, this will the job market, thus providing employment for more people. If more people are provided the means to work, this will boast a growth in California’s economy. As of now, the entire industry provides more than 1.2 million jobs and the Department of Energy estimates that this increase of oil and natural gas will increase due to fracking. In California, it is estimated that the Monterey Shale oil business will likely produce 3 million jobs and 25 billion dollars in tax revenues by
