Ellen DeGeneres hosted the award show that evening and took a ‘selfie’ with a large amount of other celebrities. The photo (selfie) was taken on a Samsung smartphone and created a large amount of attention on social media. I have seen this photo on all forms of social media, specifically on twitter. I think that to this day I will still see Ellen’s selfie taken on a Samsung Galaxy on my twitter feed. This picture broke a record of the most ‘retweeted’ picture on Twitter’s website. Clearly the photo stirred up a lot of buzz in order to reach the most ‘retweeted’ picture, which created a huge marketing success for Samsung.
