Consequently, after Ben’s death, Brady was left to dwell on all the guilt and regret he felt towards Ben’s death, but through hard work and deliberation he was slowly able to make amends. Amanda’s death left a deep scar on Brady’s family that never truly faded, “I was seven when she came and went- and we never ever talked about Amanda. We don’t even refer to her…”(Cummings 57) Brady kept his feelings of grief inside, letting them slowly eat away at his heart until he traveled to Rhode Island where he was able to find a picture of amanda to comfort him even in moments of heartache. Shortly after arriving home, Brady’s Mother found him holding the photo which drove them to shed their apprehension and truly confide in each other. After simply talking about how he felt, Brady and his Mother grew closer and Brady was finally able to accept Amanda’s death.
