The River Of Doubt Book Report

The most meaningful part of this book, The River of Doubt, I believe is when Theodore Roosevelt decided to go on the journey to the Amazon. This is the most meaningful part to me because it shows how you should never give up and just because you can’t get one thing that you want doesn’t mean you can’t reach a different goal. After Roosevelt lost the presidential election in 1912 he set his eyes on one of his other passions, adventure. I believe that the purpose of this book was to show that Theodore Roosevelt wasn’t just a great president, but he was also a great explorer. It also shows the fight he had to not get discouraged after he lost the presidential election and to move on to other things. The amount of guts it took for him to want to explore such an unexplored place in the world is remarkable. This then teaches readers to not get discouraged just because you don’t get your way the first time doesn’t mean you give up and not try to succeed in a different way. I would most definitely recommend this book to another person to read. I am not always completely thrilled in having to read but this book was really good and kept me entertained and wondering what was going to happen next.
