Through all of these ways, literature is definitely making an impact, but is it always for the better? In today’s day and age, more and more authors are creating novels of blood, gore, and violence. Yes they may be interesting to read, but they also desensitize young readers. So when there are shootings or murders, the youth that are growing up will not be phased by it, if they are constantly reading about shootings and murders in books. That could be a major problem moving forward in life. Additionally, with all the stereotyping taking place in today’s world, in literature and politics, if you do not pick a definite side, you are viewed as a defender of the enemy or someone who aids the villain, and that is not always the case.
