Doesn’t it feel like you are on your own hero’s journey? The Odyssey was a story about a man named Odysseus who went to Troy to fight a war,but after the war Odysseus mocked the gods and made the god of the sea Poseidon angry.Poseidon was so mad that he kept Odysseus from returning home to his family and Odysseus went to a whole new world to try and make it home.I think that the Odyssey was a great example of the hero's journey and i will tell you why. In the hero’s journey,stage six is the stage of tests,allies and many choices.Odysseus was faced with a choice and he,unlike his men,made the right choice.His men ate a thing called a lotus flower and forgot all about their mission and their families.In line 46-47,Homer states that “they longed to stay forever,browsing on that native bloom,forgetful of their homeland”,as a result of their bad decision,Odysseus had to save them and passed the test he was faced with.There are still more important stages in Odysseus’ journey.
