Plastic surgery uses two procedures; reconstructive and cosmetic procedures (Plastic Surgery, par 1). The aim of reconstructive surgery is to fix the defects that are causing functional problems in patients’ lives and blocking them from living properly. Mainly, reconstructive procedures are used to correct defects on the face or body which are considered as anomalies from birth or cuts, burnts, slits, that are consequences of accidents or atrocious injuries. For example, cheiloschisis and syndactyly are two anomalies which can only occur in the process of gestation (Plastic Surgery, par 1).
