The US military is the armed forces of the United States of America, and it consists of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard. The commander-in-chief/Military’s overall head is the president of the United States, he helps form military policies with the US DoD, as well as helping carry them out. The US is considered the strongest military force in the world today, and becoming the strongest force in the world requires money; The US spends what the whole rest of the world spends on defense: $597.5 billion. The next country closest the US is China, spending $145.8 billion. Although the US spend the most on the military, the US’ military personnel comes in second having 1,281,900 people active while China has 2,333,000 active. The Military has a set order of seniority under the current regulations of the Department of defense. The display of the flags, placement of soldiers, Marines, Sailors, and Airmen in formation use this system. President-elect Donald Trump’s platform on the US military is to rebuild and make it extremely powerful. “I will rebuild our military, it will be so strong and so great,” Trump told a crowd on Friday at a stadium in Mobile, Alabama, “It will be so powerful and so great that we will never have to use it, nobody's going to mess with us.” Donald Trump then criticized the commitment the US made to defend South Korea and Japan and yet receive nothing in return.
