The Untold Stories of Alex Burke

Look, people say that you should be happy that you are who you are. Well not in this case. I didn’t want to be who I was. I didn’t want to leave my mom, or get stuck an abandoned house with crazy monsters in the process of trying to find a stupid camp in New York. Stupid Fates. This is my untold stories before Camp-Halfblood; These are The Untold Stories of Alex Burke.
I was a troubled kid, what can I say? It was your average, boring day of school. It was the weirdest day I have ever had, and it all started 2 months ago, in my best friends back yard. I got up for school made breakfast for me and my mom and hopped on the bus and went to school like any other kid. I was on the

You two still going to those grieving and coping classes?” he said, standing over me. We had just got off the bus. And I decided to ignore him and move on as the burning sensation hit my gut once again with grief. I got the flashback of when I was told my brother, Michael, died in a boating accident. My dad left the three of us when I was born. He left right after Michael was born then came back for a while and shortly after my mom had me. Then he took off again and never came back. My mom just couldn’t leave the house for the longest time after that. But anyway, we had to cope like everyone else. I have to take care of my mom and myself when it comes to cooking and cleaning. But back to what happened. The rest of the day became the usual, until the end of the day. I walk outside and started my way from the bus stop. When I got off I saw my best friend Jake. Me and Jake go way back. We have basically known each other since 5th grade. But here is what was weird, Jake was eating a metal can, like a pop can. So decided to hide behind a tree and watch what he does. So after he eats the rest of the can he goes in the house so I followed him. He goes out to his back yard and climb over his statue-like fence like he showed me, and I at this point it was a blessing that he taught

I was 13 going into the seventh grade and My summer vacation days were lingering to a close in late July of the sunny and quiet Webster Groves. The days were long and hot, my friends and I would roam our neighborhoods and country club always looking for fun stuff to do, especially looking for trouble. We use to weave in and out through the train tracks and small streets, using them as our alleyways because that linked both of the country clubs in Webster Groves .Then one day, when the glistening sun and beautiful day beamed through my windows and awake me from my deep sleep. My mother creeped in my room, thinking I was still asleep but I could here every crack with her footsteps on my maplewood floor.…

It is estimated that over 100,000 students miss school every day due to fear of being bullied. Since I was little I always had many friends, especially in middle school, one friend in particular, Eduardo. Eduardo was being bullied by a bunch of big kids. I never really paid much attention to it, until it happened to me. One day walking to my next class with my new Nike shoes that my mom had got me the day before, everyone complimented me on them, then Fredi, some dude that was irritating with me since the school year began, squinted at my shoes and smiled and luaghed and said "where did your mom get them from?…

When I was 7 years old and in third grade, I was really short, and my mom’s birthday was coming up, my dad gave my sisters, my brother, and I a speech about how we need to be nice to each other and that we had to obey and respect others and each other. If we do this then we could go to a water park and a town called Frankenmuth. That same night was movie and pizza night. We were watching the new movie called Shrek 2. Instead of pizza my sister, Dillyn wanted something different.…

It was on a sunny day in June, the summer before my freshman year. It seemed as if it was just going to be a normal summer day; maybe go swimming with some friends or go to the movies. That idea changed when my mother told me we were going to visit my grandmother in Shawnee, Kansas. I remember that day very clearly; like it was just yesterday. I can remember arriving at her house, being greeted by her at-home nurse who had an unusual smile for caring for a person that is dying, but I guess that was just her job.…

Irrational fear can be a challenging concept for adults to understand let alone a seven year- old for whom it seems impossible. I can still remember vividly, not only my fear but what I feared the most… one of my family members being in a fatal car accident, and today, nine years later, I think I know exactly how this fear developed. “Casualty” was one of the popular TV programmes that I grew up with as my parents — especially my mum — would watch it every Saturday night. I can see it now — the paramedics rushing into the A&E department with the stretchered patient, in a brace and spouting blood from somewhere or another. The patient would call out for a family member or a friend who was in the accident with them, only to be ignored as the…

I worked the early shift which was no fun to wake up for but nice to get off earlier in the afternoon. My phone had to stay in my locker all day so by the time I had walked to my car my missed calls and messages for the day were hitting my phone.
