Prof Lorena Fuentes The introduction of “HAND TO MOUTH” is a very typical example of the middle class in America. According to the introduction, the author explains the expense in their family such as mortgage, clothing, child care etc.
However, Elizabeth Warren who is the author of “The Vanishing Middle Class” hold the view that burden of the middle class is becoming heavier. Even today’s median-earing family is making a lot of money comparing with their parent’s generation ago, but they paid a lot either. For example the mortgage, clothing, health care, food, cars, appliances, taxes. Unfortunately, the large proportions of people spend too much on service and items they do not need virtually and they do not know how to manage their finance. Borrowing more and spending more seems like a vicious circle. The directly consequence is the phenomenon of overconsumption is becoming more and more serious. According to the article “How Fares the Dream”, over the course of the 1960s and 1970s substantial numbers of black families moved into the middle class, and even into the upper middle class; the percentage of black households in the top 20 percent of the income distribution nearly doubled. It can clearly show that every racial people can make the contribution to the economic no matter where you come from or what color is. As we know, America is combining with various people. In addition, numerous people still confuse to manage their finance issues. If everyone keeps record of their day-to-day expenses, then it can help them save money for themselves and for their
