In the stories “Robot Dreams” and “The Veldt,” it is proven that technology is not always a positive thing that can help improve society. The authors of these stories tell us that if you rely on technology too much it can bounce back on you through the characters in the literature. Us humans can’t be around technology to much or it will negatively impact us negatively.
In “The Veldt,” the Hadley family relies too much on the technology in their Happylife Home. “Would I have to tie my own shoes instead of letting the shoe tier do it? And brush my own teeth and comb my hair and give myself a bath” (Bradbury). This line tells me that the technology that they have does all their necessary tasks for living. The kids also don’t know what to do without this technology and they don’t know how to do these daily tasks. “Wendy was still crying and Peter joined her again. “Just a moment, just one moment, just another moment of nursery,” they wailed” (Bradbury). The kids have become so accustomed to the technology that they don’t want to leave it for ever in this line.

The author tells the reader in this line that technology can begin to take over our lives if we rely on it too much. When we rely on it too much we are susceptible to the chance that it can rebel and we are in a world of hurt. I have experienced this lately when I was working on this paper my computer was acting up and not working this limited me to the amount of time I had to work on the paper.
