In the novel Lord of the Flies, written by William Golding, the author effectively uses various themes to weave the story together. One interesting theme he uses is human capacity for evil. Two characters, Jack and Ralph, have the same ambition, yet try to achieve their goal using different methods. Jack is wealthy, bossy, opinionated and uses his intelligence to deceive and manipulate others. For example, Jack says to the group "Tonight we're having a feast.
