In the article, “This Is What Abortion Looks Like,” the author's main point is how abortion is a topic that not many people talk about and think is bad but, Wendy Davis, a Texas senator talked about it in public. The author also discusses her own battles with an abortion that she had. She states that the morning sickness made it difficult to take care of her two toddlers. She uses a lot of other excuses to her decision such as she didn’t know who the father was, she was depressed and she was poor. Many women don’t know how abortion affects their baby, they just look at it as a way to fix a mistake they may have made by becoming pregnant in the first place. I don’t believe that this is right at all. In 2012, unmarried women accounted for 85.3% of all abortions. (U.S. Abortion Statistics) To me that seems like just a lot of women who felt alone, and like they couldn’t take care of a baby on their own. If more women were educated about abortion and other option, such as adoption, hundreds of thousands of babies wouldn’t have lost their lives in
