Each caused unity to break forth from disunity. As Romeo fell to the floor in grief, and Juliet took her life in hopelessness, the Montagues and Capulets came together in hope, causing joy for the future. Likewise, as the bullets of ISIS pierced through the flesh of the masses causing death, despair, and terror, the world held hands of support with the victims. Soon afterwards coalitions were formed and the war against the Islamic State and thus for humanity became reinvigorated. The two tragedies are different in one central way, which is that the unity that sprung from the Romeo and Juliet tragedy mended differences between two opposing families. However, the unity that sprung from the Paris terror attack and attacks similar to it around the world caused and is causing unity amongst passive, indifferent nations. The terror attack wrought casualties designed to cause terror. Frozen veined deeds of slaughter, causing hearts to beat quicker and fear lead its victims succumb to its aim. What is its aim? Its aim is nothing other than submission to whoever is causing the fear. The deaths that took place Romeo and Juliet exist differently. They stand moving, emotional, and personal. When Tybalt receives retribution for killing Mercutio, we have no fear. We have tears of sorrow. When Juliet takes her life in sorrow, we gain a deeper understanding of love, of choices, and of choices
