In Trainwreck, directed by Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up), Amy Schumer (who also wrote the script) stars as Amy Townsend, a journalist by day and an anti-monogamist social mingler by night. From an early age, her father, Gordon (Colin Quinn), embedded the idea into his daughters that monogamy was not possible - a trait that Amy has embraced. From there, Amy is reluctant to get involved with Aaron, since she obviously has a fear of relationships. Nevertheless, Aaron is persistent - and eventually the two begin dating. Honestly, I've never Amy Schumer's TV show, and after viewing this film, I don't care to, either. While there's plenty of people out there that obviously praise her work, I don't see her as anything more than the "flavor of the week." Much like Melissa McCarthy or Kevin Hart, Schumer is yet another comedian that creates a buzz for herself by being outspoken and overly crass, ultimately leading to media attention.
