Let’s begin with the transracial definition. According to Merriam Webster the meaning is to be involving, encompassing, or extending across two or more races. An example of this is transracial adoption. This could occur when you have a Caucasian mother and an African American father.
Rachel Dolezal was the President of NAACP chapter in Spokane, Washington from 2014 through June 15, 2015. Also, she was chair of Spokane’s police ombudsman commission from 2014 through June 18, 2015. This commission was created due to a “pattern of misconduct” within the police department. Her representation of an African American in these groups is the reason for this current discussion and controversy. According to a CNN report, her Montana birth certificate reveals that Rachel Dolezal has two parents that are Caucasian. Their origin was primarily of Czech, German, and Swedish.
