The only person who sees everything, is the lord. Sometimes one’s actions do not have to be approved by anyone, just from God. In the early years of Puritanism, chaos erupted through the village of Salem, Massachusetts. Throughout Salem, commoners and judges found there to be countless accusations of witchcraft. This led to trials in court and in extreme cases death. The Crucible, summarizes the minds of the girls, judges, and the accused. A noble farmer,John Proctor, experiences the worst of the trials. He starts off as a victim of Adultery, committed to his wife Elizabeth. Proctor continues to be haunted by the evil mind games of his partner, Abigail Williams. Proctor wants to stop all of this altogether. He is thrown in jail, along with Elizabeth. Proctor starts to rebel after he know he can no longer save his wife or himself. Proctor rebelled by not agreeing to sign his name over to the court, and the village. He is hanged that same day.
