Trinity High School offered robotics during my freshman year (2013), and was considered a very unusual activity to other students. Five students however chose to participate in this odd but seemingly exciting opportunity conducting the first robotic meeting in August. This team was made of one junior (Matthew Johnson), two sophomores (Blake Midkiff and Rueben Morris), and two freshmen (Nicholas Johnson and Sierra Valdez) who had no or little previous experience. The team quickly finished building and started programming the robot little by little. Once programming was thought to be completed they tested the robot on the practice field at OCTC which was identical too real one down the hallway. Discovering flaws in the structure of the robot and programming they went home did another tweaking for roughly two weeks.
Two weeks remaining for the Iron Raiders and pressure is growing to finish the robot, finishing costumes, make posters to show judges what students have accomplished, and think about what they plan on saying to the judges.
