More tourists from China and India are choosing South Africa as their destination of choice. (Vallie, 2012) Tsogo Sun will have to ensure that they cater for the new emerging markets trade. The new visa laws that have been introduced into the country are having a very negative effect on the tourism industry with tourists from China and India being affected. Chinese groups could stop coming to the country as soon as 01 October 2015. The Minister of home affairs Mr Malusi Gigaba (Editorial, 2015) has announced that more visa application centres will be set up in both countries. Local business might close down and there would be job losses which would in turn affect the economy. Petrol would become more expensive as would food and opportunity cost would come into play with consumers making wiser choices as how to spend their money. In the gaming and leisure industry footfall in casinos would decrease due to less expendable income. Tsogo Sun imports most of their gaming equipment from overseas and this would become too expensive and would have to be put on hold.
